In order to keep advancing research and development of the transport industry, and further promote international exchange and cooperation in transport, especially the transport infrastructure connectivity among countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative, the 2019 World Transport Convention (WTC2019) is scheduled to convene at the China National Convention Center, Beijing from June 13 to 16, 2019.
With the theme of“Better Transport, Better World”, WTC 2018 is composed of six major parts: opening ceremony & keynote presentations, the "Belt and Road " special activities, technical sessions & workshops, transport sci-tech expo,and 2018 college student bridge design competition, as well as WTC think-tank product release and special activities.
On 9th March, 2018, Director of Greek H.I.T come to visit China Highway and Transportation Society（CHTS）, aimed to exchange and discuss the related issues of preparing of Belt and Road International Transport Alliance (BRITA) & World Transport Convention (WTC).

The Regulation on Intellectual Property Rights Protection for WTC Papers is formulated for the purpose of identifying the protection of intellectual property rights for papers submitted to World Transport Convention and safeguarding the rights of the authors.

Nearly 1,300 presentations were made in 115 technical sessions, 6 poster sessions, 48 workshops and 20 committee meetings during 2017 World Transport Convention. More than 4,000 participants focused on hot issues and cutting-edge technologies in the field of transportation, such as transport interconnection among countries along the Belt and Road, high-speed rail technology, future transport, the development of long-span bridges, intelligent transportation, sharing economy and green mobility, etc..
